Let's call this the OU project. For this project you will create a video, digital story, or audio essay that highlights some little-known aspect of this university, its resources, history, clubs/organizations, sports, majors, buildings, etc. Your audience for this project will be both potential and current OU students who know little about your topic. The research you do--interviews, archival research, surveys, participant observations, etc--will be determined by your topic, but you will need to gather soundclips, photos, pictures, images, texts, etc to create a rich new media composition.
You will work in small groups to discover a topic, research that topic, gather materials/evidence/images/sounds/ephemera, compose your new media composition, and present your "stand-alone" composition on the last day of class. Your group composition should be capable of standing on its own without any introduction or supporting lecture from your group; thus, you may not do a powerpoint presentation for this composition.
